Euan's Story

With ten years' experience in the world of education, Euan is passionate about supporting young people in their learning and school teams in providing the best learning opportunities.  His professional approach, enthusiasm, and determined work ethic is evident in his impressive career achievements.

Euan started his rich and varied teaching and leadership career in the remote Shetland Islands. On completing his first year of teaching, Euan took a leap of faith and moved to Prague, Czech Republic. In a HMC and IB World School, Euan was Teacher of Biology as well as Environmental Systems and Societies. Euan was quickly promoted to Senior Tutor, where he successfully led the way in pastoral and safeguarding best practice, alongside an excellent team of Form Tutors. In this role, Euan's passion for inclusion was further cemented, advocating for a foundation of positive mental health and wellbeing on which young people can build their futures. Euan excelled in leading his pastoral team while maintaining his successful position on the teaching team.

Moving back to the UK, Euan taught Biology in a Scottish maintained school before obtaining a leadership position with an education 'start-up', which would soon become one of the world's leading international online schools. As one of the main architects in developing an alternative to 'mainstream' primary and secondary education, Euan oversaw the growth and development of the education team at his current school. In his roles as Head of Secondary, Principal and, most recently, Head of Inclusion & Wellbeing, he led and collaborated with educational professionals to develop a high-quality provision, which would be the envy of many other providers. This is evidenced with Euan's current school becoming accredited as a Cambridge International School, a member of the Council for International Schools (CIS), and an associate provider with the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). Additionally, the school was awarded the 'Progressive Education Delivery Award' by the PIE Awards in 2020. As an international school, Euan has overseen teams based in the UK, the Middle East and Australia.

Euan is passionate about diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging, as well as advances in educational technology that allows learning to be more accessible for all.  As an advocate for positive mental health and wellbeing, Euan is a certified Mental Health First Aider, committed to supporting students, parents and team members to overcome challenges or to access support. He has also been a Board Member for a UK-based mental health charity.

Combining his experience in teaching and leadership, with pioneering expertise in the online learning space, Euan is proud to join other international professionals who continue to push the boundaries, and challenge the educational 'status quo', so teachers and learners experience teaching and learning fit for the twenty-first century and beyond.
